Bar-hoppin’ in Buckhead

Best Bars, Clubs & Lounges in Buckhead Atlanta

Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood is so much more than upscale shopping, trendy restaurants and boutique hotels. The city’s affluent northern district is enriched by nightlife with chic lounges, nightclubs and dive bars that welcome trust funds of all sizes.

Party on Piedmont Road

This four-mile-long stretch of partying begins in the MARTA-accessed Lindbergh area where dance clubs thrive, starting with The Gold Room — an EDM nightclub that hosts world-famous touring DJs — and continuing to Tongue & Groove, where Latin night is every Wednesday. Follow the rainbow across the street to Woofs, Atlanta’s only gay sports bar. Salsa night continues only five minutes up the road at Havana Club – playing different genres of music in three separate rooms. Within a short three-minute walk, you’ll also find Rose Bar and Divan Hookah lounge for a softer ambiance.

Mostly occupied by college grads and current students, The Buckhead Strip is SEC Greek central. Strap on your Sperrys as you hop from one dive bar to another including but not limited to Red Door Tavern, Lost Dog Tavern, Kramer’s, Dive Bar Buckhead, Stagecoach, The Pool Hall, Five Paces Inn, Park Bench Pub and Buckhead Saloon – where it’s much less claustrophobic.

Turn Up for Upscale Drinks and Cocktails

Socialize in the posh Buckhead scene where cocktails are crafted carefully in finer establishments. Drinks are paired well with Japanese cuisine at Himitsu and the Red Martini Restaurant & Lounge. City views are gazed from up above in Whiskey Blue’s rooftop lounge at the W Hotel. Time is turned back to the Prohibition-era at the speakeasy-styled Blind Pig Parlour Bar.

Turn Down for What

Just when you thought we’d already covered dancing, it turns out we didn’t even get close. We’re shining some colorful rave lights on the Rush Lounge — another EDM destination — as well as Hole in the Wall and Moondogs, neighboring bars each with a dance floor. Enjoy day drinking with bottomless mimosas and starting the dance party early at The Ivy then make the short move over to Johnny’s Hideaway for some late-night retro sounds.
