The Convention & Entertainment District of Downtown Atlanta is where most visitors start their trip. With restaurants on every corner and major entertainment venues and attractions all within walking distance of one another, there’s plenty to keep you busy and active.

Situated in the epicenter of Downtown Atlanta is the Convention & Entertainment District. The adventures of most Atlanta visitors’ start here, since it’s a quick 15-minute trip from the airport. Each year, numerous meetings and events take place in this downtown neighborhood, but there’s much more than that. Award-winning dining, world-class attractions and exciting nightlife line the streets of the Centennial Park District, just across the street from Centennial Olympic Park.

Atlanta’s lasting legacy from the 1996 Summer Olympic Games is Centennial Olympic Park, and, to this day, the park serves as a gathering place for locals and visitors alike. Enjoy the green space for a family picnic, or use it as a relaxing break between exploring the attractions that line the park.

Inside the Convention & Entertainment District and just across the street from Centennial Olympic Park is the World of Coca-ColaGeorgia Aquarium and CNN Studio Tours, the Center for Civil and Human Rights and the College Football Hall of Fame.

The neighborhood is also home to marquee sporting events at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons, and State Farm Arena, where the Atlanta Hawks play.Moral of the story? There’s a lot going on downtown. Check it out and see for yourself how Atlanta has changed.
