Queers on Film: Paris is Burning at the Plaza Thea

WUSSY MAG + Out On Film and Plaza Atlanta present "QUEERS ON FILM" -- a new monthly series of LGBTQ+ arthouse and independent classics at the Plaza Theatre.

In June, we are proud to present the newly RESTORED version of the 1990 documentary 'Paris is Burning'!

Featuring a Q&A with some of Atlanta's most Iconic house members --

Andre Mizrahi (House of Mizrahi)
Tony Revlon (House of Revlon)
Kierra Focks (House of Escada)

Doors at 7pm
Q+A and Film at 7:30pm

'Paris is Burning' follows a group of African American and Latinx New Yorkers navigating the city's underground Ball Culture, racism, poverty, and the AIDS crisis. Featuring legends of the scene, Willi Ninja, Pepper LaBeija, Octavia St. Laurent, and Venus Xtravaganza, the slang and signals of the ballroom culture have inspired generations of young queers, drag performers, and TV shows like 'RuPaul's Drag Race' and 'POSE'.
