Atlanta History Center Juneteenth Online Program

Atlanta History Center invites you to join in the commemoration and celebration of the end of enslavement in the United States during its annual Juneteenth program. Since 2013, Atlanta History Center’s yearly event has connected with visitors around this essential moment in national history. Due to risks posed by COVID-19, we will not be hosting an in-person event this year. Instead, we have curated virtual resources for the entire family to mark the occasion.

Atlanta History Center’s Juneteenth 2020 online content will include :

- Spotlighting five major Civil War Engagements of United States Colored Troops (USCT).
- Emma Davis-Hamilton in a prerecorded session about finding your African American roots.
- A suggested reading list of books celebrating African American heritage and culture for all age groups.
- Super Spies, an animated comic.
- Interactive presentation on the regimental battle flag of the 127th United States Colored Troops in Atlanta History Center’s collections.
- Juneteenth Jamboree, a curated music playlist.
- Story time with National Center for Civil and Human Rights.
