Ready for a great weekend in Atlanta? Here's what's on our schedule with the holidays just around the corner.
Carol is the ATL Insider’s culture vulture. If there is a new exhibit in town or a new show on the stage, Carol is the first to know about it.
- Alliance Theatre's A Christmas Carol, through Dec. 24
This fabulous production is wonderful no matter how many times you've see it. It has all the elements that Charles Dickens wrote into the story plus music (and humor). It seriously is THE perfect way to get into the holiday spirit.
- Christmas with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Saturday and Sunday
Oh my goodness, this concert will have you out on Peachtree Street shouting good tidings to everyone who passes by. It may be best to avoid shopping right after seeing this show because you'll be so hyped that you may blow your budget. It is the best beginning to the season.
Joleen is a work-at-home mom to a 4-year-old son. She and her family live in the 'burbs but enjoy regularly traveling into the city for family-friendly fun and adventure.
Garden Lights Holiday Nights, through Jan. 7, 2018
Bundle up the little ones and head to Atlanta Botanical Garden for the 7th annual electrical extravaganza. Enjoy spectacular light displays, including the new high-tech Nature's Wonders.
Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas, Saturday
Families will enjoy this endearing Christmas classic at the Center for Puppetry Arts. Watch as Ma and Emmet Otter enter a local talent contest in hopes of using the winnings to purchase Christmas presents for each other. Cost is $10.50 per person; free to members. Includes admission to the Worlds of Puppetry Museum.
