There is a large open seating area where you can sit and eat food purchased from various food stalls, but don't confuse this with a typical food court. Here, you'll find Gu's Dumplings, a spin-off from a popular Buford Highway restaurant, as well as Yalla and its Mediterranean fare. Fred's Meat and Bread sells a variety of sandwiches including the popular cheesesteak.
Besides food, there's Hop City and beer and wine store. If you arrive early to meet your friends or simply want to start the weekend early, pull up a stool at the bar and enjoy a glass of wine or beer.
For fine dining, the options are diverse. Top Chef's Eli Kirshtein serves his interpretation of French cuisine at The Luminary. If you don't mind sitting close to your neighbors and are looking for a high energy spot, Craft Izakaya has you covered. With expert cocktails and killer menu of sushi and tapas, this makes for a fun group outing. Heads up, you might even spot a celebrity (think "Vampire Diaries") like I did on a recent visit.
Atlanta chef Ford Fry claimed his space in Krog Street Market with Superica, a Mexican restaurant. Go, if only to sit on the lovely patio. A few doors down, you'll find The Cockentrice and The Spotted Trotter. Surprisingly, it's not the charcuterie that wows so much as it is the artistically plated meals. Think items like sous vide lamb and Boursin-stuffed rabbit.
Swing by the Jeni's for ice cream or the Little Tart Bakery for a sweet treat to take home. The Krog Street Market is constantly evolving. You never know what you'll discover from one visit to the next.
