Where to Find Atlanta's Best Sweet Tea

You're in the South. Time for sweet tea.
  • Sweet tea is a Southern tradition.

Sweet tea is an Atlanta staple. Some even call it the wine of the South. While folks north of the Mason-Dixon Line may be unfamiliar with this Southern drink, in Atlanta, everyone knows about this deliciously sweet concoction. Here’s where to find the best sweet tea in Atlanta.

  • Busy Bee Cafe – It is no surprise that this Southern food favorite would also have amazing sweet tea. Use it to wash down that fried chicken and other Southern staples.

  • Delia’s Chicken and Sausage Stand – You may love sweet tea, but Delia’s frozen sweet tea is a treat you won't find in elsewhere.

  • Eats – If you like your iced tea super sweet, order it at Eats. Ask for half regular, half sweet for a less sugary option.

  • The Hungry Peach  -- Located inside ADAC, a design center tucked away in Buckhead, you’ll find some great sandwiches and terrific sweet tea.

  • Joy Cafe – This cute brunch and lunch spot has delicious entrees and you might be tempted to stick with coffee, but if you venture to try the peach tea, you’ll be rewarded with a delightful drink.

  • Mary Mac’s Tea Room -- Located in Midtown, this is one of the oldest restaurants in Atlanta. It starts getting crowded around 4 in the afternoon as loyal customers start making their way in. One of my favorite items to get is the tomato pie, but fried chicken and shrimp and grits are popular here, too, as well as, natch, sweet tea.

  • Roasters – Known for fabulous chicken, there’s fantastic sweet tea to sip while enjoying your chicken. The no-frills spot offers friendly service and outstanding rotisserie chicken.
