Sure, it's a holiday based on a cheesy pun-but Star Wars fans in Atlanta and across the galaxy don't need a bigger reason than that to throw on their finest Jedi robes and celebrate their favorite fandom.

Here is what's going on in Atlanta for Star Wars Day, May 4, 2019:

  • Fancy a museum trip with the kids? Children's Museum of Atlanta will be featuring a day of of family-friendly fun including Jedi lightsaber training with the Imaginator team, the Planet Rock! mini-musical and scheduled programs with music, movement and stories all day long. Kids can even build their own lightsaber!

  • Dad's Garage takes the stage at 10:30 p.m. with its"May the 4th Be With You" performance. Odds of survival may be 3,720 to 1, but laughs are guaranteed.

  • Much like Stormtroopers, there will be lots of shots taken at the May the 4th: Bar Wars Pub Crawl in Virginia-Highland, including Diesel Filling Station, Limerick Junction, Darkhorse Tavern and Neighbor's Pub. 

  • May the 4th Miler Be With You, a  four mile race in Historic Fourth Ward Park, includes awesome shirts and themed awards. Feel free to wear your cosplay, if you can stand the heat.

  • The Jedii presents "Something" at Stankonia Studios. Get your chance to preview the upcoming album in an intimate setting. (RSVP ahead of time.)

  • Whole World Improv Theatre puts on a night of high-energy Star Wars-themed improv based entirely off audience suggestions. 

  • Outdoor Bootcamp at Coan Park features strength training, cardio and Yoda. Sorry, yoga. BYO mat or towel.

  • May the Fourth Be With You at the Rock Ranch is a family-friendly get together featuring Star Wars characters, a costume contest, drones and more.
