It’s patio season y’all. Lucky for Atlantans, there is no shortage of patio restaurants. But if it’s a great view you’re after, read on.

  • 57th Fighter Group – Do you remember when you could watch the planes take off and land at the airport without being a ticketed passenger? Well at the 57th Fighter Group restaurant, you can watch small planes take off and land from the comfort of your table.

  • Atlanta Grill – Want to see the action of downtown Atlanta while dining al fresco? Head to the posh Atlanta Grill in the Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta. Here, you’ll be perched several stories high and can observe the hustle and bustle of the always-busy Peachtree Street.

  • Canoe – This longtime Atlanta favorite is a popular spot for special events not only because of its delicious food, but also for  incredible views of the Chattahoochee River.

  • Five Seasons Westside – The Westside neighborhood is a hot spot for dining with many restaurants opening there in the last handful of years. But the rooftop bar at Five Seasons, dubbed he Skybar, has spectacular views of the Atlanta skyline.

  • Nook on Piedmont ParkPiedmont Park has spectacular views all by itself. But it’s certainly nice to have some tasty suds or noshables while you are enjoying the view. The Nook delivers this with upscale bar food, perfect for large groups.

  • Polaris – Located 22-stories high atop the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, the Polaris was taken out of operation, but is back and better than ever. The rotating restaurant features specialty cocktails and small plates, perfect for snacking while taking in breathtaking views of Atlanta.

  • Ray’s on the River – While many customers come here for the outstanding seafood dishes (the grouper is a specialty), the view is another reason to dine at Ray’s. Many of the tables are positioned so each diner has a view of river. Tip: Come at lunch to save some money and still enjoy many dishes that also are on the dinner menu.

  • Six Feet Under – The name may sound sinister, but it pays homage to  Historic Oakland Cemetery in Grant Park. Take in views of the historic site while dining. Expect lots of fried seafood dishes.

  • Sun Dial Restaurant, Bar and View – The views of Atlanta stretch all the way to the suburbs from this top floor restaurant and bar in downtown’s Westin Peachtree Plaza hotel. The food isn't too shabby either. Chef Jason Starnes has a passion for using locally sourced ingredients in his dishes.

  • TWO Urban Licks – It’s difficult to decide which view is better – inside or outside. Outside there’s a lovely view of the Atlanta skyline, but inside this sexy restaurant is all glitz and glam with a modern industrial look and a floor-to-ceiling rotisserie. Tip: It’s less crowded at brunch.
