Atlanta is a welcoming city for the LGBTQ community, and there are a number of bars, clubs and restaurants that not only welcome but also cater to the community. Here are five of the best gay bars in Atlanta.

  1. Blake’s on the Park is a longtime favorite, and its Midtown location a few blocks from Piedmont Park is just one reason. Blake's has great food and some of the city’s best bartenders. Every night is a celebration at Blake’s so check out its calendar for events such as Latino Tuesday, '90s Divas and Voyeur Wednesdays.

  2. The Atlanta Eagle, located in Midtown, is the area’s top leather/Levi bar and is known for its cutting edge music as well as dance music. The Atlanta Eagle has three bars, a fully stocked leather shop and an expansive deck for socializing.

  3. Jungle is a proudly gay-owned and operated bar that has been serving Atlanta’s LGBTQ community since 2004. Known for its Saturday night dance party, Jungle also hosts drag shows, singing competitions, pageants and underground electronic dance music (EDM) events. Jungle has two entertainment areas, the main room and the cabaret. In addition there is great food and free parking in the lot.

  4. The Heretic Atlanta is located in the Cheshire Bridge area. It features two bars and a back deck where men gather to meet and dance. There is a leather shop where the leather gear is custom fitted while you wait.

  5. Woofs bills itself as the city’s only full-service sports bar, and, in addition to a full menu, Woofs has 27 TVs for sports watching. In addition to supporting a variety of community civic events, businesses and charities, Woofs also is involved in various sports including the Rainbow Trout, Atlanta’s gay-friendly aquatics club, and the Hotlanta Softball League.

Plus, a bonus:

  • Grant Park area's The Cockpit is another great bar that features “happy bear” cocktail hours, “dirty boy bingo” and karaoke, in addition to pool tournaments on Monday and poker nights on Tuesday.
