As the global pandemic continues to disrupt industries and lives, the Discover Atlanta team is compiling local job opportunities in the community to help anyone finding themselves suddenly in need of work due to circumstances beyond their control. This blog post will be updated regularly.

Global Organizations Hiring in Atlanta

  • 7-Eleven: The convenience store chain announced on its website they are hiring 20,000 store employees due to increased demand.
  • Ace Hardware: Ace, the retailer-owned hardware cooperative, wants to hire 30,000 new full-time, part-time, and seasonal workers.
  • Amazon: Amazon is opening 100,000 new full and part-time positions across the U.S. in its fulfillment centers and delivery network.
  • Aldi: The grocery chain is looking for temporary workers.
  • Big Lots: Big Lots wants to hire more workers to meet the increased demand at its 1,404 stores across the country.
  • Chewy: Online pet goods retailer Chewy is hiring between 6,000 and 10,000 employees at its fulfillment centers.
  • Costco: Costco is hiring for various positions.
  • CVS: In response to the urgent and increased health care needs of Americans impacted by the COVID-19, Coronavirus, pandemic, we are accelerating a plan to fill more than 50,000 full-time and part-time positions across the country
  • Dollar General: For any individual whose job has been temporarily impacted by the effect of COVID-19, we currently have a number of full and part time positions available across our stores, distribution centers and private fleet network. We welcome anyone interested in furthering our mission of serving others to find available opportunities.
  • Dollar Tree: Dollar Tree said it would hire 25,000 people nationwide at Dollar Tree and Family Dollar stores. You can search here for Dollar Tree openings or here for Family Dollar positions.
  • Dominos: Dominos said it is hiring delivery experts, pizza makers, customer service representatives, managers and assistant managers.
  • Kroger: Kroger has immediate openings at nearly all of their locations. Please visit the website below and type in your city and search. It will pull up locations/openings for that city, as well as selecting a mile radius to search by as well.
  • Papa Johns: The company is hiring up to 20,000 new team members. Applicants can expect to have an interview and potentially start the same day. Click to apply or text JOBS to 47272.
  • Piedmont Healthcare: Piedmont Healthcare is looking for nurses, including retired nurses, and respiratory therapists to join their team
  • PepsiCo Beverages: Interested candidates should click to apply.
  • Publix: Publix is looking to hire thousands of associates by the end of March to fill positions in its stores and distribution centers. Interested individuals can click to complete an application.
  • Rite Aid: Rite Aid is hiring full-time and part-time associates. They have 18 locations in Georgia. To apply, visit the website.
  • Sprouts: Sprouts is looking to fill more than 110 roles across its Atlanta stores. Apply either online or by texting the word “careers” to 480-800-8056.
  • Trader Joe's: Hiring in Atlanta.
  • Walgreens: As we deal with significant demands on our stores and pharmacies during this time, we’re looking to fill roughly 9,500 existing full- and part-time roles in stores across the U.S., primarily in these positions:•Customer service associates (CSAs)•Pharmacy technicians•Shift leads. Candidates can visit jobs.walgreens.com to search for openings in their area, with positions being added regularly based on local store and pharmacy needs. In addition, as Walgreens continues to assess its needs related to the coronavirus situation, it will look to begin filling additional temporary CSA positions starting next week to help bolster in-store staffing. Some of these temporary positions might potentially lead to full-time job placement.
  • Walmart: Walmart is hiring 150,000 new associates through the end of May, including more than 5,600 associates across Georgia to work in its stores, clubs, distribution centers and fulfillment centers.

Regional and Local Organizations Hiring in Atlanta

  • All Turf: The Atlanta-based lawn care company is hiring lawn technicians and sales associates.
  • Americold Realty Trust: Grocery store employees have found themselves on the frontlines of this pandemic, but there are more people working hard behind the scenes for companies like Americold Realty Trust to make sure grocery stores and other food retailers remain stocked with essential items. Americold is an Atlanta-based company and the largest publicly-traded cold storage operator in the world. The company employs approximately 1,200 people in the greater Atlanta and North Georgia area, and is currently hiring for positions in its warehouses across the country and Atlanta headquarters.
  • Atlanta Gas Light: Atlanta Gas Light is hiring 200 new employees. Candidates can create a profile in the system, and as new jobs are posted, it will automatically alert them of these opportunities.
  • Axion Staffing Group: Axiom Staffing Group has many branches in GA currently hiring temporary associates.
  • Bellhops: This online service for moving is currently hiring thousands of contractors to help meet the needs of Americans who need moving services. Those interested in providing moving or driving services on the Bellhops platform can apply online.
  • Ingles Markets: Jobs are open immediately. Apply online or visit your closest Ingles for on-the-spot interviews between 2 and 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Pizza Hut: Pizza Hut is committed to our mission of making the perfect pizza and sharing it with our neighbors. We’re still open for business, and actively interviewing.
  • Traffic Troopers Incorporated: Traffic Troopers Incorporated is looking for people to perform flagging operations related to lane closures, detours, road closures, permanent sign installation and work zone installation.

  • My Panda: We are hiring people who are out of work so they can help others in their local community at $20/hour (or more depending on services handled).
