Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport makes Atlanta America's most accessible city and is the "World’s Busiest Airport," ranked for over twenty consecutive years by Airports Council International.  One of the most visited and efficient airports, this travel hub is just 20 minutes away from downtown Atlanta, via MARTA (the city's rapid rail transit system). Eighty percent of the country's population is within a two-hour flight, and the airport provides direct, non-stop access to more than 150 U.S. cities and 75 international destinations across six continents.

While the hustle and bustle can seem overwhelming to an unseasoned traveler, people in your group can get around with ease using this airport guide.

1. Getting Around

Don't let the 6,800,000 feet of the airport's terminals and concourses fool you: getting around this international hub is a breeze. Everything the airport has to offer, from the Minute Suites nap pods to the dog parks, is just a hop, skip and a ride away. The easily accessible trams at every terminal let attendees travel far distances fast. If you're not in a hurry, opt for an art stroll through the airport instead. 2. Insider Tips

Stop by the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) Visitors Center when you arrive at the airport. This center is helmed by the city's official destination marketing organization, and you'll find it in the North Terminal near baggage claim. Inside, the team will fill you in on insider tips and tricks to help your group make the most of the meeting and the stay. Learn more.

3. Tasty Bites

There's no shortage of delicious food in Atlanta's airport; just search the Discover Atlanta app. This official guide will show you the hotspots in every terminal. If you're looking for an upscale dining experience, stop by One Flew South. You can also grab fried chicken biscuits at Paschal’s Southern Cuisine or a cold beer at the SweetWater Draft House. For a local coffee experience, check out Cafe Intermezzo. Download the app to discover more dining suggestions.

4. Last-Minute Souvenirs

No visit to Atlanta is complete without a souvenir to show for it - and there's no shortage of places to shop in Atlanta's airport. Whether attendees are searching for an upscale gift from a high-end retailer or an affordable find, there's something for every budget and taste. You'll find 'I Love Atlanta' merch and Georgia peach magnets at the store in Terminal A. Animal lovers will enjoy a stop at Panda Veranda, which has souvenirs, gifts and collectibles from Zoo Atlanta. Discover more shops.

5. Catching a Ride

Since the airport is just 20 minutes from downtown Atlanta, once your flight lands, getting your group to the city is easy. Hop on the MARTA for quick public transit into the heart of Atlanta. You can also grab a ride-share, cab or rental car straight from ground transportation. See the MARTA schedule.
