Wedding season is upon us. Whether you’re looking for an elegant historical location, picturesque landscape or a funky urban backdrop, we want to take away some of the stress of planning by sharing our top locations for engagement and bridal photos in Atlanta.

  1. Piedmont Park
Atlanta is home to so many beautiful parks with trails and gorgeous views, but Piedmont Park is unique in that it offers this and more. Some of our favorite photo locations within the park are the gazebo on the bridge and on the Lake Clara Meer dock. If you’re looking for an urban vibe, Piedmont’s got you covered there, too. Take photos on the field with Atlanta’s skyline towering behind you or check out Fruition (http://hensethename.com/work#fruition), the mural under the bridge, commissioned by the Atlanta BeltLine.

  2. The Swan House at the Atlanta History Center
Located in Buckhead, the Swan House is an elegant, classically styled mansion built in 1928. If you’re looking for photos straight out of your favorite fairy tale then this is the location for you. The beautifully restored historic house offers pure old Southern charm with elegant staircases, a majestic lawn, gardens, fountains and stunning views.

  3. Along the Chattahoochee River
There are few things more grandiose than large bodies of water, so we’d be remiss to leave the Chattahoochee River off this list. We recommend either East Palisades or West Palisades trails, the most popular and picturesque in the city. Be sure to consult www.nps.gov and search “Chattahoochee River” to find entries to recreation areas as well as information regarding fees and photography. You can also visit gastateparks.org for additional information and photos.

  4. Atlanta Botanical Garden
Located adjacent to Piedmont Park is another urban oasis in Midtown. Atlanta Botanical Garden is home to 30 acres of breathtaking gardens and exhibits. The garden also displays ornate sculptures, art and water features.

  5. The Goat Farm Arts Center
Originally a cotton-gin manufacturer, The Goat Farm Arts Center is a modern-day artist hub, located on the Westside of Atlanta. The Goat Farm is a popular venue for special events, visual and performing arts exhibitions and live music. It’s frequently used for photo shoots and is the set of popular TV shows and films. If you’re looking for a provincial, old-world vibe for your photos, then this is the prime location.

  6. The Biltmore Ballrooms
Built in 1924 and located in the heart of Midtown, the historic Biltmore Hotel is a gorgeous setting for special occasions. There are two magnificent ballrooms, each showcasing crystal chandeliers, gold leaf antique pillars, Palladian windows, hardwood floors and restored original handcrafted plaster relief ceilings.

  7. Living Walls ATL
No doubt you’ve seen the murals while driving around downtown or through any of the Eastside neighborhoods of Atlanta. Living Walls seeks to promote, educate and change perspectives about public space in our communities via street art. As a result, Living Walls has been splashing gallery-worthy artwork on public walls to be enjoyed in our everyday lives for several years. The murals are often colorful and offer unique perspectives and styles from a variety of artists. Any of the Living Walls would make a unique urban backdrop for photos. Our favorites are murals by the artist HENSE, which can be found downtown, near Skyview Atlanta and Centennial Olympic Park, and along the Atlanta BeltLine under the Virginia Avenue bridge. While on the BeltLine, you might also check out the Living Walls artwork under the Boulevard Tunnel or the mural behind Paris on Ponce.

  8. The Anderson’s Sunflower Farm
The Anderson’s Sunflower Farm is a quaint farm located 40 miles from downtown, in Cumming. For a short time in July/August of each year, the farm boasts row after row of gorgeous sunflowers. Photographers and their clients flock from all over the state to take advantage of this beautiful, rustic location. The hours are 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. There is a $35 photography fee due to the farm upon entry.
