At Clark Atlanta University, we offer a superior learning environment that produces recognized leaders in their chosen professions who are empowered to change their communities, the nation and the world. In our quest to become a world premier institution of higher learning, we have established five centers of excellence: business administration, cancer research and therapeutic development, communication arts, national securities studies and urban education.

Located a few minutes west of downtown Atlanta, Clark Atlanta University was formed in 1988 by the consolidation of two historic institutions, Atlanta University (1865) and Clark College (1869). CAU is the largest of the United Negro College Fund institutions, with an enrollment of nearly 4,500 students. Clark Atlanta is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia, 30033-4097: Telephone 404-679-4501) to award the Bachelor's, Master's, Specialist and Doctor's Degrees.

The Carnegie Classification lists CAU as a Research University-High Research Activity. National business and consumer publications rank Clark Atlanta high among the best buys in American higher education.

The university's main public attraction is the CAU Art Galleries, which includes works by prominent African-American artists.
