There may be a chill outside, but Atlanta has plenty of hot stuff going on inside to blow away the winter blahs.
Think Spring
The Southeastern Flower Show, Jan 30-Feb. 3, at the Georgia World Congress Center features more than 95 vendors, floral and cooking demonstrations, landscaped gardens, children's activities and guest speakers of worldwide acclaim.
Artsy and Inspiring
"Inspiring Impressionism," through Jan. 13 at the
High Museum of Art, features more than 86 works of art (many of which have never traveled to the United States), from four museums. Works are juxtaposed with work by impressionist painters Monet, Cezanne and Degas.
Louvre Atlanta continues its three-year partnership with the Musee du Louvre with "
The Louvre and the Ancient World." Enjoy more than 70 works from the Louvre's Egyptian, Near Eastern and Greco-Roman antiquities collections. Works date from the third millennium B.C. to the third century A.D.
"
The Eye of Josephine" will consist of the empresses' remarkable collection of Greco-Roman and Egyptian antiquities. Both exhibits run through Sept. 7 at the High Museum of Art.

Center for Puppetry Arts' new show, "There's a Dinosaur in the Closet," Feb. 19-March 2.

Seussical the Musical" Feb. 23-March 23 at
Alliance Theatre in a show based on the books of Dr. Seuss.
The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra brings musical inspiration to "Mother Goose and Where The Wild Things Are" Feb. 22 and 24.
Athletic Diversions
The 2008 NHL All-Star Weekend makes its debut in Atlanta in late January, with some of the League's biggest stars descending on Philips Arena. In addition to the all-star matchup in an East-versus-West format, other festivities include the YoungStars Game and SuperSkills event on Sunday.
Dust off those baseballs and bring them to the
Atlanta Braves FanFest, Jan. 12 and 13 at the Georgia World Congress Center. Former and current players will be in attendance, and fans also will have the chance to brush up on hitting skills or pick up new merchandise.

The Fox Theatre for any one of the amazing lineup of Broadway shows.
Toe-tapping treasured musicals such as
Annie, (Jan.9-13) and

The Drowsy Chaperone," about a Broadway diva who decides to leave show business and get married. The show earned more Tony Awards (13, to be exact) than any other musical of the 2006 season.

Go Diego Go!", Jan. 30-Feb. 3 features familiar songs from the award-winning Nickelodeon television show, as Diego goes on an action-packed mission to rescue Baby Jaguar's growl back from the Bobos.
The beloved classic Southern novel, "
Cold Sassy Tree" makes a debut with
The Atlanta Opera on Feb. 2, 5, 7, 8 and 10 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. The story explores Southern culture as the middle-aged proprietor of a local general store makes plans to marry a much younger woman.
