The Cyclorama in Atlanta is more than just the world's largest oil painting! It's a 42-foot-tall story board that displays the story and history behind the Civil War Battle of Atlanta. The Cyclorama, 358 feet in circumference, uses a once popular form of storytelling that dates back to the 18th century. Think of it as an 18th century version of an IMAX film!

The Atlanta Cyclorama, completed in 1886 by German artists, features life-like characters – some measuring more than 3 feet tall. It was donated to the city of Atlanta in 1898 by George V. Gress, a local philanthropist who is also credited with founding the Grant Park Zoo, now Zoo Atlanta. The Atlanta Cyclorama exhibit is accompanied by period music and narration in a variety of languages.

The Civil War Museum features artifacts, uniforms and other items. Apart from the Atlanta Cyclorama, the focal point of the Civil War Museum is the locomotive Texas, a veteran of the Great Locomotive Chase of 1862.

The Atlanta Cyclorama is located next to Zoo Atlanta in Atlanta's Grant Park and is considered an historical treat to visitors seeking education in 18th century fashion.
