WNBA Atlanta Dream
The Atlanta Dream is in the Eastern division and has been a part of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) since 2008. The (WNBA) was formed in 1996 for U.S. teams and is now in its 17th season. Thirteen of the nation's best women's basketball teams play from May to September to determine which is the WNBA Champion!
The Atlanta Dream name comes from native Atlantan Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s most famous speech. Proudly boasting the title of "only all-female owned sports franchise in Atlanta," the Dream is coached and managed by Marynell Meadors. Having made great strides in their short time in the league, the Dream captured Eastern Conference championships in 2010 and 2011.
Atlanta Dream Schedule
The Atlanta Dream schedule includes the regular season which runs from May through September. Atlanta Dream home games are played at Atlanta's Philips Arena and the doors open 2 1/2 hours before game time.
