Atlanta Silverbacks

The Atlanta Silverbacks have been Atlanta's professional soccer team since 1995, when they were founded as the Atlanta Ruckus of the A-League. They have been known as the Silverbacks since 1998. They now play as one of eight members of the North American Soccer League, which is sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation.
The Atlanta soccer team's name was inspired by Willie B., a silverback gorilla who was one of the main attractions at Zoo Atlanta until his death in 2000. Both the men's and women's team proudly wear the Silverback name and logo.

Their home facility, Atlanta Silverbacks Park, and has been providing the team and fans with a first-class soccer experience since opening in 2006! It is located near the interchange between Interstates 85 and 285, just a few minutes northeast of downtown Atlanta.
