NASCAR in Atlanta

NASCAR is the second most-watched sport on television, after professional football. The sport has garnered such high international attention, that it is now broadcasted in 150 countries worldwide, and holds 17 of the top 20 most-attended single-day sporting events in the world.

In Atlanta, NASCAR races are held at the Atlanta Motor Speedway which is located approximately 30 miles south of Atlanta on U.S. Highway 19 & 41 in Hampton, Georgia. More than 150,000 people from all over the globe attend the racetrack's two annual NASCAR events.

The Atlanta Motor Speedway hosts the NASCAR Sprint Cup race annually on Labor Day weekend and has historically been the second to the last race before the Chase for the Sprint Cup begins.

For the 2013 season the speedway will host the Nascar Sprint Cup Series Pole Qualifying on August 30th, the Nationwide Series race will be held on August 31st and the 54th-annual AdvoCare 500 series race will be held on September 1. The Nationwide Series is a NASCAR racing event that compliments the Sprint Cup Series race and is a great way for visitors to experience the full-throttle action at Atlanta Motor Speedway!
