Press Trip Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in Atlanta. The Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) assists journalists with travel and convention stories about Atlanta by suggesting itineraries to visit the attractions, cultural venues and other points of interest to include in their articles, travel guides and broadcasts.

The ACVB PR department assists more than 2,500 journalists a year and receives hundreds of requests for press trips. To most effectively meet your editorial, photographic and/or broadcast needs, we ask your cooperation in following these guidelines:
  • We request a minimum of three business weeks notice for a press visit once we have received all of your credentialing information. This allows us to find available lodging and arrange an itinerary to enhance your visit.

  • Complete and submit the Press Trip Request form.

  • Journalists seeking assistance must be on assignment.  Please submit the press trip request along with a letter of assignment to Sarah Solomon at fax 404.589.5774.

  • Freelance writers, please send samples of recent travel or travel-related feature coverage.

  • The ACVB is unable to provide airfare for your trip to Atlanta. However, MARTA, Atlanta's mass transit system, is convenient and inexpensive. We can also provide information regarding local car rental companies.

  • Meals are not provided during your stay, unless you are a food writer or host of a food show. In the event an ACVB representative is on tour with you, your meals may be provided during the tour by the ACVB. If requested, we will offer dining suggestions.

  • Any published images that are received from the ACVB must include a photo credit to the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau and the photographer holding copyright to the photo.

  • The ACVB asks that you please forward an original copy of your segment, if applicable, as well as air dates.
Please note that complimentary arrangements are provided at the discretion of the host businesses and are subject to availability. Blackout periods may be experienced throughout the year that may necessitate a press rate, especially at hotels. The ACVB cannot pay for transportation, accommodations, attraction passes or meals.

Please understand that our primary goal is assisting working press. Host locations are not always able to accommodate spouses, children and visitors accompanying working press.

If you have any questions, please contact us.
