The dance component of the Festival celebrates the enormous contributions of dance artists in historical dance and popular/social dance idioms. It samples some of the highest quality work of dance artists and choreographers of the African Diaspora. Undeniably a festival highlight, all forms of concert dance, including western classical, African, modern jazz and dance theatre are presented, as well as other varieties including tap, Capoeira, Afro-Caribbean dance and hip hop. Master classes and lecture demonstrations complement panels, roundtables discussions and featured events.
