American Idyll in Rabun County
Begin your trip on U.S. Hwy 441 in Tallulah Falls, home of the Tallulah Gorge State Park. Almost 1,000 feet deep, this spectacular gorge has hiking trails with amazing vistas and facilities for camping, whitewater paddling, picnicking, biking, tennis, swimming and fishing. Several overlooks and a suspension bridge give accessibility for a mild or vigorous exploration.
After the gorge, travel north on Hwy. 441 to Lakemont. This small artist community has charming shops and lake views. Visit Minnehaha Falls for a breathtaking photo opportunity.

Resume your leisurely drive on Lake Rabun Road to Scenic Hwy 197. Turn north and visit Moccasin Creek State Park. Hiking trails and waterfalls are available here. From Hwy 197, turn east on Hwy 76 and follow into Clayton, GA. Dine in one of Clayton's fine eateries featuring fresh local produce.
A short drive will find you enjoying a cooling walk along the Bartram Trail from Warwoman Dell.Trout fishing is also available from the Chattooga or the Tallulah Rivers.
