Downtown Day
Morning
Visit the Georgia Aquarium, where you can see more than 120,000 animals of 500 different species in more than 8 million gallons of marine and fresh water. The world's largest aquarium houses whale sharks, beluga whales, touch tanks, and a 4-D theater perfect for all ages. While at the Aquarium, participate in the Georgia Aquarium's new Journey with Gentle Giants program. This is the only opportunity in the world to swim or scuba with the world's largest fish, the whale shark.
Head to the NEW World of Coca-Cola at Pemberton PlaceT in downtown Atlanta to the only place where you can explore the past, present and future of the world's best-known brand. See a 4-D movie experience, a fully operational bottling line and sample more than 70 Coca-Cola products around the world.
Lunch
For a true in-town experience, try The Peasant Bistro. Here you dine in a cosmopolitan, dramatic two-story restaurant that overlooks Centennial Park and the Atlanta skyline. Featuring fresh, seasonal cuisine, the menu consists of delicious, traditional bistro favorites with French and Mediterranean influences.
Afternoon
At the Inside CNN Atlanta Tour, watch behind-the-scenes action of the newsroom, see what it takes to put a news broadcast together and even learn how the weather map works.
Visit Centennial Olympic Park, the world's gathering place during the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games. The park features the popular Fountain of Rings and many outdoor events during the summer months.
Dinner
Before the game, rethink typical bar food at STATS where serious food meets serious sports. STATS features a classic American menu that includes something for everyone and five bar areas where you can pour your own beer.
Evening
Castleberry Hill is an in-town, urban neighborhood very close to Downtown. Renovated warehouses now stand as residential lofts, galleries and dining destinations. While you are there, be sure to check out the Marcia Wood Gallery, Wertz Contemporary Gallery, and No Mas! Cantina is an attractive retreat with gardens on the outside and furnished with beautiful carved wood tables and chairs from the adjacent No Mas! Hacienda.
If you are in town a day early or staying a day late, you can attend an Atlanta Hawks (Feb. 7th and 10th) basketball or Atlanta Thrashers (Feb. 6th, 8th and 11th) hockey game at Philips Arena.
