Sure, coffee is great. But tea is more my speed for 2017. There’s something very regal about afternoon tea, don’t you think? If you are looking for something out of the ordinary to do on your next lady date, or for an intimate birthday gathering, this is it. Here are three spots that are perfect for your tea party.
- Astor Court – Located inside the St. Regis in Buckhead, head here for a leisurely afternoon of tea, talk and tasty treats. For sweets, expect lovely scones, macaroons and tarts. More savory items include sandwiches like egg salad, cucumber and smoked salmon. Choose from teas like the Mad Hatter black tea or pear infused green tea. Each person is given their own tea pot that has about three cups worth of tea. Tea service is $40 per person and all-inclusive of your choice of a dozen teas and all the snacks mentioned above. It is available Friday through Sunday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., and reservations are highly recommended.
- Tipple and Rose – Located in the heart of the historic Virginia-Highland community is this tea parlor and apothecary. There’s a rustic décor that separates this spot from other stuffy places. You’ll find a delicious selection of unique teas and light bites like sandwiches (with the crusts cut off, of course) and delectable pastries. There also is an assemblage of lotions, soaps and sprays.
- Tea Leaves and Thyme – In the burbs? Not to worry, Tea Leaves and Thyme in Woodstock is a terrific choice for tea service. Though not as modern as the other two spots on this list, it is homey and a great choice for multi-generations.
