You’ve made your list and checked it twice. You’ve undoubtedly taken the kids to visit Santa, and your holiday cards are in the mail. You’re just gearing up for the Secret Santa gift exchange at work and making sure Little Susie has something special for her teacher. Christmastime is filled with memory-making opportunities, and we want to help make sure that 2017 is the best holiday season yet. Here are three unique things to do for Christmas in Atlanta.
- Sure you’ve met Santa but have you met The Grinch? Visit Ponce City Market through Dec. 17. See the Grinch parade in with the Who-ligans. He will be seated in his sleigh throne until 8 p.m., where you can pose for a quick pic. Post it to your social media with the hashtag #PCMMerryAndBright to help grow his small heart three sizes.
- Ride Santa Express 2017, otherwise known as the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. Enjoy a daytime fun-filled trip with Santa, where you'll hear “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and sing carols. The train ride is approximately 1 hour, 15 minutes and runs through Dec. 23. Visit the website for more information.
- Head to Six Flags Over Georgia through Jan. 3, 2018, for Holiday In The Park – an exciting holiday classic that includes twinkling lights, festive shows, tasty culinary treats and, of course, Santa Claus. See the park completely transformed into a winter wonderland. Main Street Christmas glitters with more than 100,000 lights, and holiday tunes are played throughout the park to get you into the Christmas spirit. Check out the nightly holiday tree lighting.
