| Established in 1913,
the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) is a private,
non-profit organization created exclusively to sell and market metro
Atlanta and Georgia globally as the premier conventions, meetings and
tourism destination in the regional, national and international
marketplace, and favorably impact the Atlanta economy through
conventions and tourism.
The ACVB is charged with implementing aggressive sales and
marketing programs that support Atlanta’s $3.5 billion
convention and tourism industry. Tracking the competition
and industry trends, the Bureau develops appropriate programs
to position Atlanta and Georgia as leading destinations for
business and vacation travel. With 19 million annual visitors
to Atlanta, the ACVB’s programs are successful in attracting
business to the city.
The ACVB serves as the liaison between meeting planners,
tour operators and individual tourists and its 1,000 member
organizations that provide necessary ingredients for a successful
vacation, meeting or convention.
The combined efforts of the ACVB, convention and meeting
facilities, hotels and service organizations have helped to
make Atlanta one of the top five convention destinations in
the nation. |
