Judy Claxton joined Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB) in 1970 and currently serves as vice president, corporate events. Her responsibilities at ACVB include serving as a liaison between ACVB and its board of directors and planning and executing ACVB's annual meeting and Atlanta Hospitality Hall of Fame awards ceremony and dinner. She works directly with the ACVB president and CEO and assists the executive office in major events and projects throughout the year.
Claxton was named the first female vice president of ACVB. At the end of her 35-year tenure as vice president, operations for ACVB, she changed her role as a full-time employee to a part-time basis working both from the office and her home in Dahlonega.
Claxton is a member of the American Management Association, the Society for Human Resource Management and the Destination Marketing Association International. A native Atlantan, she attended West Georgia University and lives with her husband, Tony.
