From NASCAR to the Civil War, Henry County, Georgia, offers an interesting mix of attractions to Atlanta visitors. Its best-known attraction is one of metro Atlanta's most popular sports venues, Atlanta Motor Speedway. The motorsports facility hosts two NASCAR NEXTEL Cup races — the Kobalt Tools 500 and the Pep Boys Auto 500, the largest single-day sporting events in Georgia. Henry County, GA, is also home to Nash Farm Battlefield Park, site of two major Civil War battles in 1864. Other Henry County attractions include Noah's Ark animal rehabilitation center, Panola Mountain State Conservation Park, Southern Belle Farm, Fun Town of Henry County family entertainment center and the 200,000-square-foot Peachtree Peddlers Flea Market. Another Henry County, Georgia, shopping destination, Tanger Outlet Center in Locust Grove, features more than 70 factory outlet stores representing such retailers as Nike, Gap and Liz Claiborne. Annual events held in Henry County, GA, include Ole Stockbridge Days and the Hampton Fall Festival. Henry County is considered one of the nation's fastest-growing counties. It is located 13 miles south of Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
