You could go out to dinner for Valentine’s Day. Or, you could do something more unusual on or near the day of the hearts and candy. See what’s happening:

  • Silly Love Songs. On Feb. 10, at Park Tavern, Yacht Rock Schooner plays the songs that will set your heart to swooning.

  • For the Love of Science. Fernbank After Dark, for adults only, makes its debut Feb. 10, plenty close to Valentine’s Day. Expect hands-on science. Sounds like a nice way to get to know someone.

  • Undie Run. Drop all pretenses and take a fun run in your underwear. If you don’t have a sweetie, you might meet one. The Feb. 11 event raises funds for a worthy cause (and that’s a lotta love).

  • Love in the Graveyard. That’s right, those geniuses at Historic Oakland Cemetery have planned a tour where you will learn about love stories from yesteryear. Be there on Feb. 11 or 12. Take your sweetheart or your best friend.

  • Puppet Couples – really! Visit the Center for Puppetry Arts on Feb. 11 to learn about puppets in love. Who knew?

  • Nothing says love like a good belly laugh. And that’s what you and your date will get when you go to Dad’s Garage Theatre Company on Valentine’s Day for the “U Up? Valentine’s Day Show.”

  • Romeo and Juliet needs no explanation. See it again at Shakespeare Tavern through Feb. 26. Boo-hoo.

  • Fall for Cute. Puppies never fail to send hearts a-thumping. Take someone you love to the “Puppy Love: Juried Exhibition 2017.” Say “aww” at this benefit for rescue dogs that runs through March 11.

  • Did somebody say, “Let’s Dance.”? Grab a date (any date as long as he or she can dance) and groove to the tunes in the beautiful Atlanta Botanical Garden. Feb. 11
