Carol’s Picks
Carol is the ATL Insider’s culture vulture. If there is a new exhibit in town or a new show on the stage, Carol is the first to know about it.

  • American Field at Ponce City Market, all weekend
Now this sounds like fun. It is a pop-up market selling made-in-American brands at Atlanta’s old/new Ponce City Market. I think I’ll pop in.

  • Bach Collegium Japan, Sunday
If you’ve never been to Spivey Hall and you love classical music, then this is an event you may choose not to miss. Bach will be there, along with Vivaldi, and Handel. The orchestra performs on Baroque instruments, and rumor has it that the sound is incredible.
Joleen's Picks
Joleen is a work-at-home mom to a toddler son. She and her family live in the ‘burbs but enjoy regularly traveling into the city for family fun and adventure.

  • Macy's Pink Pig, Saturday through Jan. 3
Macy's Pink Pig is back at Lenox Square. Bring your kids to experience this yearly holiday ride, which has been a beloved tradition in Atlanta for over 50 years.

  • Atlantic Station's Fall Festival, Friday
For a fun festival of food, crafts and activities hear over to Atlantic Station this Friday. When the sun goes down, enjoy a spooky movie on the green.

  • Day of the Dead, Dia De Los Muertos, Sunday
Take advantage of FREE Admission Day and visit Atlanta History Center for a Day of the Dead Festival with storytelling, crafts, Mexican food and entertainment. View a display of altars honoring lost family and friends that are decorated with flowers, favorite foods and beverages. Refreshments available for purchase.
Tommy's Picks
Tommy is a young professional keeping an eye out for the city's liveliest happenings.
  • The ASO Performs Music by Danny Elfman, all weekend
At this point, you might be asking yourself, "What movie soundtracks has Danny Elfman NOT produced?" The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra takes on the master of the spooky Hollywood score at Atlanta Symphony Hall. (No word yet on whether any Oingo Boingo hits will be performed.)

  • The Great Georgia Air Show, Saturday and Sunday
Up in the sky--it's a plane! No, it's a LOT of planes. Come see the Blue Angels, Mike Goulian, The Great Wall of Fire and the U.S. Navy Parachute team at the 17th annual performance of high-flying action (literally) over Peachtree City.
Miranda’s Picks
Miranda recently got engaged and enjoys fun and fancy romantic events throughout Atlanta.

  • Mummies and Mixers at The Carlos Museum, Thursday
Start your weekend early and celebrate with creepy mummies and tantalizing drinks. The Carlos Museum will feature mummies, movies, snacks and mixologists from the Pinewood Tippling Room to stimulate and satisfy your taste buds. RSVP at
