Ready for a fun weekend in Atlanta? Here's what's on our schedule.

Carol’s Picks
Carol is the ATL Insider’s culture vulture. If there is a new exhibit in town or a new show on the stage, Carol is the first to know about it.

  • Fernbank After Dark, Friday
Nobody loves woolly mammoths more than I do. (I even have a stuffed animal version on my bed). If you also love these amazing giants, hurry to Fernbank while the exhibit "Mammoths and Mastodons" is here. See a replica of a baby woolly and watch the film,"Titans of the Ice Age."

  • Atlanta Field Day 2017, Saturday
During my elementary school career, I was a champion at the three-legged race. Perhaps there will be such an event at this field day for adults. Go on. You know you want to.

Joleen's Picks
Joleen is a work-at-home mom to a 3-year-old son. She and her family live in the 'burbs but enjoy regularly traveling into the city for family-friendly fun and adventure.

  • National Ice Cream Day Mayfield Creamery Tailgate, Sunday
This is the perfect weekend to take the kids to a ball game and check out the new SunTrust Park. Celebrate National Ice Cream Day with Mayfield, the official ice cream of the Braves. Stop by for free samples and to spin the prize wheel for fun swag.

  • Princess Brunch: Frozen in July Sing-a-Long, through July 29
Kids are invited to dress as their favorite princess and to sing along with a special, interactive screening of Disney's "Frozen." Check the calendar for special brunch screenings. Advanced reservations are encouraged.

  • Sugarboo Kid's Art Contest, through July 31
Visit Sugarboo & Co. at Ponce City Market any time this month to pick up a Dancing Dog coloring sheet. Children through age 18 are invited to submit their best Dancing Dog masterpiece for a chance to be displayed in the PCM Food Hall.

Tommy's Picks
Tommy is a young professional keeping an eye out for the city's liveliest happenings.

  • Attack of the Killer Tomato FestivalSunday
Head to Park Tavern for chef-restaurateur Ford Fry's 9th annual festival celebrating all things tomato. Expect homegrown organic foods, SweetWater beer, live music. I could go for some killer tomatoes right about now.
