Things To Do in Atlanta This Weekend December 2 through December 4

Thanksgiving's over... and that means the start of holiday things to do in Atlanta. Feeling festive?

Ready for a fun weekend in Atlanta? Here's what's on our schedule.

Carol’s Picks
Carol is the ATL Insider’s culture vulture. If there is a new exhibit in town or a new show on the stage, Carol is the first to know about it.

  • Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol, through Dec.23
I admit to never having seen this, Shakespeare Tavern's version of the Dickens' classic, and I also admit to having seen "A Christmas Carol" many times at many places, and I have loved them all. It seems that the intimate atmosphere at Shakespeare Tavern would be a perfect setting for the holiday tale.

  • Invasion: Christmas Carol, through Dec. 30
Dad's Garage's version of the Charles Dickens' classic brings, of course, hilarity to the stage, what with a different character visiting Scrooge each night and the added silliness of one improviser dashing around the stage creating havoc. This might be the perfect year to see as many versions of "A Christmas Carol" as you can. Remember that the Alliance Theatre always brings a joyful version to its main stage. So many Christmas Carols; so little time.

Joleen's Picks
Joleen is a work-at-home mom to a 3-year-old son. She and her family live in the 'burbs but enjoy regularly traveling into the city for family-friendly fun and adventure.

Tommy's Picks
Tommy is a young professional keeping an eye out for the city's liveliest happenings.

  • Dr. Pepper SEC FanFareFriday - Saturday
Get in on the excitement this weekend at the 25th celebration of the SEC Championship Game. Experience the celebration firsthand and you might just run into Tim Tebow, Marcus Spears, Paul Finebaum and Maria Taylor. It's the best pregame celebration around, so don't miss out.

  • Ugly Sweater RunSaturday
Still got that tacky holiday sweater from Aunt Peggy? Throw it on and join fellow outdoor runners (and maybe burn off some of those Thanksgiving calories) at the Ugly Sweater Run.
