This weekend's things to do in Atlanta are a real scream.

It's the run-up to Halloween. Here are our things to do this Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Atlanta.

Carol’s Picks

Carol is the ATL Insider’s culture vulture. If there is a new exhibit in town or a new show on the stage, Carol is the first to know about it.

  • Stone Mountain Park Country Living Fair, all weekend
This is my favorite thing to do every year. I mark it on my calendar a year in advance, then I look forward to it all year long. Why? The atmosphere, particularly on opening day, is a little bit crazy. Everyone seems so excited to be there. It's generally a coolish fall day. The merchandise is unique and reasonably priced. I go to look. I go to buy. I go to relax (even if I get up at a ridiculous hour so as not to miss one second). It is a Big Day for Shoppers. Oh, yeah, I'll be there.

  • 20th Annual Oktoberfest Party, Saturday
I have loved this restaurant since first moving to Atlanta many years ago. And I didn't know about the Octoberfest Party, but what could be better than all the German and Bavarian food you can eat in a festive atmosphere? Well, one more thing -- oompah music. See you there?

Tommy's Picks

Tommy is a young professional keeping an eye out for the city's liveliest happenings.

  • Atlanta Streets Alive - Harvest on the Square, Sunday
See Peachtree Street transform into a pedestrian mecca full of walkers, bikers, strollers and skateboarders. Enjoy the fall weather at Colony Square with live music and food from Petite Auberge.

  • Netherworld Haunted House, through Nov. 5
It's been 20 years of fall frights, and Atlanta's homegrown Hollywood-quality Halloween haunt is bringing classic characters like The Collector and The Harvestman back from the dead. I'll be shrieking my way through both the haunted house and the Vault 13: Meltdown features this weekend.

  • Taste of Atlanta, all weekend
More than 90 neighborhoods share their tastiest dishes at the city's must-taste food, wine, beer and cocktail festival. Bon appétit, Atlanta.
