Get ready to be entertained. Here are our top picks for things to do this Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Atlanta.

Carol’s Picks

Carol is the ATL Insider’s culture vulture. If there is a new exhibit in town or a new show on the stage, Carol is the first to know about it.

  • Moby Dick at Alliance Theatre, through Oct. 30
You've read the book. And read it again. (Let me count the times.) Now, see it on stage with trapezes and acrobatics. Seriously? Yes. This production just opened. Go soon; you may want to see it twice.

  • Amy Schumer Live, Saturday
If you are a fan, then you won't want to miss seeing her live. Hear her stories of vacationing in Paris and making her movie, "Trainwreck." Time for laughs.

Joleen's Picks

Joleen is a work-at-home mom to a 3-year-old son. She and her family live in the 'burbs but enjoy regularly traveling into the city for family-friendly fun and adventure.

  • A Tour of Southern Ghosts, Friday through Sunday
Kick off the Halloween fun with this ghoulish family tradition at Stone Mountain Park. Tour lantern-lit paths of the Antebellum Plantation grounds and listen to ghost stories — both funny and scary but all appropriate for kids. Proceeds will benefit ART Station.

  • Run Like Hell 5K and Fun Run, Saturday
The entire family can get their run (or walk) on for a good cause this Saturday at Oakland Cemetery. Proceeds from the 9th annual Run Like Hell 5K and Run Like Heck (ha!) 1K benefit Atlanta’s oldest public burial ground. Walkers, leashed dogs and strollers are welcome. Be sure to register by Thursday at 4 p.m.

Tommy's Picks

Tommy is a young professional keeping an eye out for the city's liveliest happenings.

  • Georgia A-Scary-Um, through Oct. 30
Enjoy spooktacular music and visits from classic monsters (we don't just mean the whale sharks) each weekend through Halloween.

  • Scarecrows in the Garden, through Oct. 30
Make your own scarecrow? Sounds like a treat! Explore more than 100 creative scarecrows at the Atlanta Botanical Garden made by individuals, schools, organizations and businesses.

  • Fright Fest at Six Flags Over Georgia, through Oct. 31
Six Flags transforms into a monster-filled land of scares and screams... but also sweet roller coasters. Don't miss the brand new Rage of the Gargoyles experience, one of the first Virtual Reality Roller Coasters in North America. You'll pilot an out-of-control helicopter and fend off a full-scale gargoyle invasion. (Full disclosure: I rode it, and it was awesome.)
