With campaign season finally behind us, we're looking forward to this weekend. Here's what's going on in Atlanta.

Carol’s Picks
Carol is the ATL Insider’s culture vulture. If there is a new exhibit in town or a new show on the stage, Carol is the first to know about it.

  • 35th Annual Atlanta Veterans Day Parade, Saturday
Anyone who was in the marching band in high school probably loves a parade. I, in fact, was a majorette, so, yes, I do love a parade. But, truthfully, who doesn't? This one is a twofer because (a) it's a parade and (b) it honors veterans. So break out your baton or your flute and march on.

  • Atlanta Contemporary Jewelry Show, all weekend
The season for gift giving is upon us. Well, right now it's the season for gift buying, which is a darn good reason to head to this jewelry show and mark a holiday gift or two off your list.

Joleen's Picks
Joleen is a work-at-home mom to a 3-year-old son. She and her family live in the 'burbs but enjoy regularly traveling into the city for family-friendly fun and adventure.

Tommy's Picks
Tommy is a young professional keeping an eye out for the city's liveliest happenings.

  • Tegan & SaraFriday
Though it may be a shock to your system to hear Tegan & Sara are in town, head over to the Tabernacle to see this Grammy-nominated duo of pop. If traveling on foot, consider walking with a ghost. (Then maybe catch The Fray on Sunday as a bonus.)

  • Veterans Day at Georgia Aquarium, Friday
From 11 a.m.  to 2 p.m. view a color guard presentation and Military Salute video at the Georgia Aquarium in honor of those who served in America's armed forces. Participants are also invited to sign letters and holiday cards to deployed troops.
