Ready for a fun weekend in Atlanta? Here's what's on our schedule.

Carol’s Picks
Carol is the ATL Insider’s culture vulture. If there is a new exhibit in town or a new show on the stage, Carol is the first to know about it.

  • World Music Day, Saturday
Well, expand my horizons! The Center for Civil and Human Rights is one of the best attractions in Atlanta. So, I am betting that when CCHR puts on a world music day, that it will be, um, out of this world.

  • Food Truck Fridays, Friday (duh)
C'mon down to the Five Points Marta station and grab a bite off a food truck. Bring an office buddy, and make it a fun lunch hour. Doncha love food trucks?

Joleen's Picks
Joleen is a work-at-home mom to a 4-year-old son. She and her family live in the 'burbs but enjoy regularly traveling into the city for family-friendly fun and adventure.

  • Billy Goats Gruff & Other Stuff, Aug. 10 through 13
Another fun production from the folks at Center for Puppetry Arts. These adorable puppets weave together traditional fairy tales with modern stories for kids ages 4 and up. Two shows daily.

Tommy's Picks
Tommy is a young professional keeping an eye out for the city's liveliest happenings.

  • 17th Annual Decatur BBQ Blues & Bluegrass FestivalSaturday
What goes better with blues & bluegrass than delicious southern BBQ? Harmony Park hosts a family-friendly event full of the sights, sounds and smells (and tastes) of classic Southern fare.

  • Tig NotaroSunday
Actress, writer, stand-up comedy genius, storyteller. Take your pick. (In this Young Professional's opinion, one of the funniest and most profound comedians of our time.) Don't miss the opportunity to catch Tig Notaro at the Tabernacle.
