Being outside while getting your "namaste on" (aka outdoor yoga) can be a really refreshing experience. Imagine doing the tree pose underneath the trees, downward-facing dog with the help of your dog or completing a sun salutation while opening your heart to the actual sun above. Nice, right?

In fact, the most memorable yoga class I’ve ever taken happened a few years ago in Piedmont Park, underneath one of the large oaks on the hill along 10th Street. The sun was setting, the breeze rustled and the mind-body-nature connection was the trifecta that helped me stretch deeper and relax more completely. So I highly recommend that you give outdoor yoga a try at least once.

And you’re in luck because, as opportunities to get fit in Atlanta continue to boom, there are more chances than ever to get more creative with your workout routine, including plenty of options for free yoga. So jettison the traditional gym or yoga studio for one session, take advantage of these opportunities and be make sure to BYOM - Bring Your Own Mat.
