Sometimes you don’t want a romantic tête-à-tête. Instead you want to have fun with your best couple friends. Atlanta offers so many choices for a night when you and your date get together with other couples to escape, bowl or play games. Just take a look at several fun group outing ideas below.

  • Escape the Room Atlanta makes everyone work together to have fun – and escape. Couples have an hour to escape from one of three different rooms – an apartment, newsroom or rec room – and need to work together to figure out the clues so they can get out.

  • Another fun “escape” place is Ultimate Escape Game, an immersive live-action entertainment experience that will bring out your inner sleuth. With innovative room themes, cinematic staging and puzzles, it’ll take a group to escape the room or finish the mission. The mission could be escaping from an underwater research facility, unlocking the safe that contains the secret Coca-Cola formula, escaping from a 1950s' mental hospital or breaking the Enigma code.

  • In Virginia-Highland at the Dark Horse Tavern, go downstairs to 10 High for free karaoke. There’s a different theme each night: metalsome, soul or acoustic. If you still want more fun at the Dark Horse, go to the Wax Attic, a vinyl listening lounge where you'll be sure to get in the groove.

  • Many Atlanta museums have special nights for couples that mix a museum learning experience, camaraderie and, well, booze. Check out Sips Under the Sea at the Georgia Aquarium where, on select weekends, you can wander through the world’s largest aquarium and enjoy signature cocktails and delicious tapas. Best yet – no kids! If you really want to enjoy the evening, the aquarium offers adult sleepover packages where you can spend the night after really enjoying Sips Under the Sea.

  • It used to be called Martinis and IMAX, but now the Fernbank Museum of Natural History offers Fernbank After Dark that offers unique after-hour experiences, including evening access to the museum exhibitions, live music, full bars, tapas menus and films on the giant screen.

  • Bellina Alimentari, located at Ponce City Market, is an Italian restaurant, bar and store that offers learning and eating events that are perfect for date night. Learn how to make pasta, decide whether wine or beer is better with a three-course Italian meal and get the scoop on how to appreciate balsamic vinegars. The best part is that after the course, you’ll enjoy the meal and feel a sense of accomplishment – as well as full belly.

  • Agatha’s A Taste of Mystery presents dinner and a mystery with audience members participating in solving the murder. It’s fun, and  audience members are given parts in the show, complete with costuming. Your best friend just may turn out to be a “killer” or a detective who helps solve the mystery. The food is delicious and you’ll be laughing  throughout the evening.

  • If you and your friends are feeling a bit competitive, make you way to Andretti Indoor Karting & Games and take you pick of dozens of games as well as indoor go-karting. And, there’s more. You can have fun in a two-story laser tag area, bowl, do a rope course, climb a cosmic rock wall and race high-speed electric super karts on a multi-level track. Of course, there’s a great menu and two full bars.

  • There are several bowling alley and game restaurants around Atlanta that offer bowling, billiards, games, laser tag and other fun activities that will turn any evening memorable. Among them are Bowlmor Atlanta, the Painted Pin, Pin Strikes Entertainment Center and Stars and Strikes Entertainment Center. GAME X doesn’t have bowling, but it has dozens of arcade games, air hockey and  hoops, along with a sophisticated menu and drinks.

  • What is better for a group dinner than fondue? The Melting Pot in Midtown provides the perfect experience. It offers cheese fondues, fresh salads and a four-course experience (cheese, salad, entree and chocolate fondue).

  • Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament will turn everyone in the group into lords and ladies as they eat dinner and watch amazing skills of horseback riding, fencing and falconry.

  • You don't have to know how to dance like Fred Astaire, but you'll still have fun at Johnny's Hideaway, a Buckhead night spot that attracts couples, singles and groups of all ages. It's easy to have fun cutting a rug under the mirrored ball and finding your groove dancing to Sinatra, Elvis and the Drifters.
