The Carter Center is known as an international center for diplomacy and peace, but is great for weddings, too.

The Atlanta Botanical Garden provides a perfect backdrop for the perfect wedding.

Who needs an exotic location when you have Zoo Atlanta?

The Artmore Hotel's courtyard brings a European feel to a wedding.

Awesome Atlanta Wedding Venues

The memories created by wedding and bridal showers are meant to be passed down for generations. Who doesn’t love looking at wedding pictures of their parents or even their grandparents? That’s why it’s so important to choose the perfect spot.

Atlanta is gifted with wonderful hotels, parks, churches,  private homes and museums that fit the bill. Here are some of our favorite venues for wedding festivities — particularly if you want to celebrate outdoors.

Artmore Hotel

Artmore Hotel has a lot going for it. It’s located right in Midtown and across from the High Museum of Art and the Arts Center MARTA station. The Artmore dates back to 1924 and features a beautifully restored Spanish Mediterranean facade along with103 suites and rooms. The hotel has 4,350 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, but our favorite space is the open-air courtyard, complete with a romantic fountain that also serves as a fire pit.

Atlanta Botanical Garden

Atlanta Botanical Garden has a lush site for every type and size wedding. Whether you want your special day to be in the Rose Garden, the Fuqua Orchid Center, the Fragrance Garden or the Alston Overlook with breathtaking colorful beds that are framed by the Midtown skyline, the Botanical Garden fits the bill.

Atlanta History Center

Atlanta History Center offers elegance with historical appeal. You can choose your venue from the majestic lawns of the Swan House Mansion as well as the Grand Overlook Ballroom, Atlanta History Museum with Terraces and the rustic charm of the Smith Family Farm.

Barnsley Resort

Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Barnsley Resort offers a romantic venue, and the wedding can take place beside the pool pavilion, in the Fairy Godmother’s Garden or in the most requested venue, the manor home ruins that Godfrey Barnsley built as a tribute to his wife.

Callanwolde Fine Arts Center

Callanwolde Fine Arts Center is one of the most popular sites for an Atlanta wedding.  The 27,000-square-foot Tudor Revival style mansion is located on a beautifully landscaped 12.5-acre gardens. You can have your wedding in the mansion, the newly restored retreat complete with stone fireplace or outside.

Jimmy Carter Presidential Library & Museum

The Carter Center will bring your wedding to the next level. The Center does not allow events outside, but the grounds are available for guests to enjoy during the event and for picture taking.

Chattahoochee Nature Center

Chattahoochee Nature Center (CNC) offers three ceremony sites: on the Meadow, in the Plaza under a 100-year-old pine or at the Ben Brady Lakeside Pavilion, where the reception will take place. Guests can stroll the gardens and dance under the stars, and for summer weddings, CNC even has air coolers.

Grand Hyatt Buckhead

The Grand Hyatt Buckhead has  several rooms perfect for the wedding, but we’re partial to the Terrace venue right in front of a lush Japanese Garden with a 30-foot waterfall. How romantic.

Inn at Serenbe

Let the Inn at Serenbe be the backdrop for your wedding. Located 25 miles south of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the Inn at Serenbe offers an upscale destination location with the pastoral elegance that is perfect for a country wedding or a formal one.

St. Regis Atlanta

The St. Regis Atlanta can hold up to 690 guests in the elegant Astor Ballroom, but it also has outdoor space in the 2,593- square-foot Grand Terrace that overlooks the pool.

Zoo Atlanta

Zoo Atlanta promises it won’t make a monkey out of your wedding, but it will make it extra special. Zoo Atlanta has a number of indoor and outdoor venues that are perfect for a wedding — you can even rent out the entire zoo if you’d like. For outdoor venues there are the Chinese Plaza and Panda Veranda that is adjacent to the giant panda habitat, the flaming plaza, the gorilla deck, the Twiga Terrace, better known as the Giraffe deck, and the Publix Party Pavilion.
