Many foodies agree that food is art. And many restaurants support local artists by displaying artwork on restaurant walls. Some restaurants take it a step further and decorate their walls with murals. Want to find some of the coolest murals at restaurants around town? Here’s a list of the ones you need to visit.

  1. Better Half – The small restaurant near Georgia Tech was born from the ever-popular underground pop up, PushStart Kitchen. Most of the action takes place at the bar where you can watch chef Zach Meloy prepare his marvelous creations. And sitting there provides a view of the entire robot mural.

  2. Bottle Rocket – In Castleberry Hill, this Atlanta restaurant/bar is like a modern day Cheers. There’s a giant mural of a black cat (Think fireworks.). It fits in well with the bright décor of this small spot. Enjoy specialty cocktails and sushi.

  3. Chai Pani  Unlike traditional Indian restaurants, Chai Pani has a high-energy vibe. With approachable dishes and amazing flavors, it's no wonder it remains so popular. There's a colorful mural watching over you as you sit at the bar.

  4. Der Biergarten – If you love beer and a terrific patio with awesome views of downtown, head over to Der Biergarten and bask under the vision of a gorgeous beer wench. Enjoy amazing German beers, and don’t miss out on the jäger schnitzel.

  5. Lusca – There’s a giant octopus in this hopping Buckhead restaurant, right behind the bar. As the sister restaurant to Octopus Bar, the lively spot will be open only a bit longer as the owners have decided to move on to new ventures. Enjoy it while you can.

  6. Original El Taco – Who doesn’t love Mexican? Part of the Fifth Group empire, El Taco provides terrific food at excellent prices for the Virginia-Highland neighborhood. Their bright mural mirrors this cool restaurant’s high energy.

  7. Octopus Bar – Serving a late night Vietnamese menu in East Atlanta by the same guys who opened Lusca, this trendy restaurant doesn’t open until 10:30 p.m., so eat a very late lunch if planning to dine here.

  8. Raging Burrito – This hopping Decatur restaurant features gigantic burritos of all kinds. Like Thai? Yeah, they have a burrito for you. During the warm months ahead, sit in the outdoor patio with a view of the Mona Lisa mural.
