10 Unique Group Spots Walkable from GWCC & AmericasMart

With plenty of activities located near Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) and Atlanta Convention Center at AmericasMart (AmericasMart), your group can easily transition from work to play during their time in downtown Atlanta.

Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame

Sports fans will love this football-centric museum. Just a 10-minute walk from GWCC and AmericasMart, the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame encompasses over 50,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space, interactive displays and a 45-yard indoor football field.

Centennial Olympic Park

Attendees can escape the hustle and bustle of downtown Atlanta with a stroll through Centennial Olympic Park. The iconic park is only half a mile from both GWCC and AmericasMart, so it’s the perfect sightseeing spot between meetings. Enjoy live music, fountain displays, good eats and even an audio tour that explores the park’s history and its ties to the 1996 Olympic Games.

CNN Studio

Your group can go behind the scenes of the CNN World Headquarters during a 50-minute guided walking tour. They’ll get exclusive access to CNN Center, including a look inside the newsroom and control room, and also get to watch live news inside Studio 7 – CNN’s largest studio in the world!

Pemberton Place

A half-mile walk from GWCC and AmericasMart, Pemberton Place is a one-stop shop for educational fun in downtown Atlanta. Attendees can taste over 100 flavors of soda at the World of Coca-Cola, gaze at whale sharks and other marine life at the Georgia Aquarium or pay homage to the civil rights movement at the Center for Civil and Human Rights.

Have your group get a taste of Atlanta’s foodie culture at one of the downtown restaurants. If there’s a game on, they can grab a beer at STATS Brewpub. This spot features HDTVs, beer taps at your table and local pub fare. Der Biergarten is a German-style restaurant and beer garden with indoor and outdoor seating that is perfect for large groups. If they’re looking for some familiar stops, they’ll also find a Hard Rock Cafe and McCormick & Schmicks (inside CNN Center) close by.
